Job Description:
Renovations to R.B. Harrison Village 5-5 consisted of a
complete reconfiguration to 6 buildings in the Harrison
Village community. Sixty efficiency apartments were
converted into twenty seven three-story townhouse units.
The interiors were completely removed so that only the
exterior frame remained. The apartments were then rebuilt
according to the new layouts. The existing flat rubber roofs
were replaced with new shingle roofs, and new standing
seam metal canopies were built at the front entrances of
each apartment. In addition, 2nd story decks were built on
the backsides of each unit. One building was demolished in
its entirety and one building (seen above) was cut in half
and modified. A new road was built along with all new
sidewalks, landscaping and playgrounds.
